Sean is a senior lecturer in the Eastern Health Clinical School, which is part of the Monash University Faculty of Medicine, Nursing, and Health Sciences.
Imperial College is a technical university in London and is consistently ranked in the top ten in the QS World University Rankings. Sean worked at Imperial in a research post under the supervision of Professor Lord Ara Darzi, and was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine for his work on the objective assessment of technical skill in basic surgical trainees.

Sean is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Gastro-Oesopageal Surgery Association, the Australia and New Zealand Hepatic, Pancreatic and Biliary Association, and the Australia and New Zealand Metabolic and Obesity Surgical Society. These three specialist groups operate under the broad auspices of the RACS, and are responsible for training of post-FRACS surgeons in their areas, as well as for the ongoing education of members.

British Journal of Surgery
Obesity surgery is the journal of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders. It is an excellent specialist journal, covering basic science as well as clinical research and surgical techniques.
MedlinePlus is an online medical resource produced by the US National Institutes of Health, and aimed at the general public. It is an excellent source of accurate medical information, and is a very reliable online resource.
